All paintings, photographs, texts and the design of this website are © Estate of Klaas Wiedijk. You are welcome to look at the works and to share or link to them — for example by pinning a page on Pinterest — as long as you credit klaaswiedijk.com as the source. The images may not be copied, reproduced, printed, sold, or used to make products (prints, posters, cards, merchandise), nor used to train AI models, without our written permission. For any such use, please email hello@klaaswiedijk.com first.

Who we are

This website is a memorial archive for the work of the Dutch fine painter Klaas Wiedijk (1953–2023), maintained by his family (the Estate of Klaas Wiedijk). We are responsible for how your data is handled here. For any question about this statement or your data, email hello@klaaswiedijk.com.

What data we process

This is a static archive: there are no accounts, no web shop, no newsletter and no contact form that stores data, so you can browse it completely anonymously. We only process data in two situations — technical data that any website needs to work (see “Hosting and server logs”), and the details you send us if you email us yourself.

Cookies and tracking

This website places no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising pixels or tracking of any kind (such as Google Analytics or Meta pixels). Nothing is stored on your device to follow you.

Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted by Netlify and the images are delivered through TransIP. As with every website, these providers automatically process limited technical data — such as your IP address, browser type and the time of your visit — in standard server logs. This is technically necessary to serve the pages securely and reliably and to prevent abuse (our legitimate interest). We do not use this data to identify or follow you.

Fonts

For its typography the site loads one typeface through Google Fonts, which means Google may receive your IP address when a page loads. If you would rather avoid this, you can block web fonts in your browser.

Links and social media

The site links to our own Instagram and Pinterest accounts and to Smelik & Stokking Galleries. As soon as you follow such a link, the privacy terms of that other service apply, not ours. On our own Pinterest and Instagram we share photographs of Klaas Wiedijk’s work; we do not share any data about visitors to this site.

If you email us

When you write to hello@klaaswiedijk.com, we use your name, email address and message only to answer you. We do not share it with anyone and we do not use it for marketing.

How long we keep data

We keep email correspondence only as long as needed to handle your question. The technical server logs are kept briefly by our hosting providers according to their own policies.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to see what data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its processing. Email hello@klaaswiedijk.com and we will help. You may also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
