Gember (Ginger)

A heap of pale ginger roots piled high on a stamped wooden crate, set against a soft grey ground. Knuckled and forked, the roots twist into a strange, coral-like sculpture, every wrinkle and pale eye carefully told. An unglamorous kitchen root turned into a small monument.
