Granaatappels (Pomegranates)

A white enamel jug holds a few apples and plums, flanked by two pomegranates, one split open to show its packed red seeds, with a plum at the side, all on a green crate lettered LEEUWARDEN. The wet, jewelled seeds against the matte gold rind are the whole pleasure here. Ripe to bursting, and painted at exactly that point.
