Stilleven met kersen en nectarines (Still Life with Cherries and Nectarines)

Cherries fill a mint enamel mug and a striped cup, with nectarines and a tipped salt shaker around them, all on a cloth edged in deep crochet lace. The glossy fruit, the chalky enamel and the open holes of the lace make three surfaces in one breath. The lacework alone is a small showpiece of patience.
