Stilleven met snoepgoed (Still Life with Sweets)

Foil-wrapped sweets glint in cut crystal and a white dish, with striped sugar sticks bundled in a tumbler, all on deep red satin against the dark. The crackle of cellophane and the gleam of the glass are caught with relish. Pure colour and shine, painted until it almost rustles.
