Abrikozen (Apricots)

A small pyramid of apricots, downy skins flushed from yellow to a warm blush, one tipped forward into its own reflection. Their soft bloom is exactly the test painters set themselves, the act of ripening caught in pigment. Ripe, sunlit and not built to last.
