Limoenen (Limes)

Five whole limes and two cut pieces, their pith and segments crisp against a soft green wall and doubled in the pale tabletop. The skin is all freckle and pore, matte where the fruit is whole and suddenly wet and translucent where the knife has gone in. A small study in one colour pushed from deep green to gold.
