Cactusvijgen met bramen (Prickly Pears with Blackberries)

Prickly pears in red and greenish gold lie clustered with a scatter of blackberries on a pale gleaming surface. Wiedijk sets the bristled, dotted cactus skin against the tight glistening drupes of the berries, two very different textures side by side. Exotic fruit treated as pure colour and surface.
