Uien met paarse peulen (Onions with Purple Pea Pods)

Five brown onions, their papery skins catching the light, with a scatter of purple mangetout pods laid in front. The cool violet of the pods plays against the warm amber of the onions, each surface rendered down to the dry curl of root and tendril. No story here, just the pleasure of two skins and one good clash of colour.
