Sperziebonen (Green Beans)

A bundle of green beans bound with a thread of straw, two loose pods lying in front on the pale table. Light runs along each waxy, faintly bumpy pod and picks out the dry little stems. A humble handful from the garden, given the steady attention a Golden Age master would spend on silver.
