Pruimen (Plums)

A small pile of plums, red shading into gold, the bloom still soft on their skins and mirrored in the pale glossy table. Light gathers on each rounded cheek and slides into the seam down the side. Ripe and heavy, caught at the brief moment before the fruit gives way.
