Knoflook (Garlic)

Four heads of garlic gathered close, their papery skins curling at the necks, painted in faint warm and cool whites against a soft grey-green ground. The dry, crackling wrappers and ribbed cloves catch a low light. White on white is one of the harder things in the craft, and here a kitchen staple becomes the whole subject.
