Reine-claudes (Greengages)

Six greengages heaped on a pale ledge, their skins a clouded green flecked with amber and the odd rusty blush, each split by a faint pale seam. A waxy bloom softens the gloss, and the light pools low in the reflection. Quiet fruit in a single muted colour, with all the interest in the skin.
