Peultjes (Pea Pods)

A bundle of flat pea pods tied with a wisp of straw, two loose ones laid out in front, their thin green skins almost translucent where the light passes through. You can read the small peas swelling inside each waxy case. A plain handful from the kitchen garden, treated with unhurried care.
