Aardbeien (Strawberries)

A scatter of strawberries on a pale surface, glossy red skins pricked with pale yellow seeds, one cut to show its starry green crown and white heart. The reflection blooms pink beneath. Each highlight sits exactly where the curved skin turns to the light, ripe and almost wet to the eye.
