Training Plane

A red tin biplane stamped Training Plane taxis in front of a white enamel mug with a blue rim. The painted lettering recalls the old cartellino, the trompe-l'oeil slip of paper early masters tucked into their pictures. Bright lithographed tin against plain enamel, a small boyhood scene held still.
