Stilleven in wit (Still Life in White)

A white enamel coffee pot, a blue rimmed mug and a small egg cup before a sheet of crumpled cream paper, every tone pale. The painter works only with soft shifts of warm and cool, the dented glaze against the buckled paper. Stripped of colour, it becomes pure light.
