Staldeur 1874 (Stable Door, 1874)

Peeling pale-blue doors set in a stone arch, its keystone dated 1874, cross-shaped vents and a chained wicket, a white enamel jug standing on a stool at the threshold. The flaking paint over bare wood is the showpiece here, every lifted scale of blue caught against the grain beneath. The little jug on its stool turns a barn door into a quiet still life.
