Schelpen (Shells)

A tangle of pale, spiralling shells piled into a single writhing mound on a stencilled crate. Stripped of colour, the picture becomes a study of form alone, every whorl and bump caught in soft grey light. The heap seems almost alive, the still life tipping gently towards the strange.
