Staldeur, licht en schaduw (Stable Door, Light and Shadow)

A tall arched door of weathered boards, one half sunk in shadow, the other patched with newer pale planks and lit full on, two bricks jutting from the plaster. No object stands at the foot this time, only the doors themselves and the sharp division of dark against light. A near-abstract study in tone, the whole picture carried by old wood and falling shade.
