Staldeur met tafel en ladder (Stable Door with Table and Ladder)

Pale blue-green doors below a stone arch, a tilted lamp throwing its shadow, two little windows, and at the foot a whole still life, a turned-leg table with a white coffee pot, a spade, a crate and a leaning ladder. Here the door becomes a stage set, every surface from rusted plank to soft enamel rendered with equal patience. The arrangement at its base could be a painting on its own.
