Openstaande staldeur (Open Stable Door)

Big grey weathered doors standing slightly ajar in a plastered arch, a dark gap and a cross-brace showing between them, a single white enamel jug at the lower left. The silvered, splitting wood is the whole performance, painted until you can feel its dryness, and the half-open leaves let a breath of darkness in. One small jug keeps the vast door company.
