Stilleven met appels (Still Life with Apples)

Two apples lean cheek to cheek on a glassy surface, yellow skins washed with streaks of red and doubled in a clear reflection below. It is a small exercise in colour and gloss, nothing more, and it does not pretend otherwise. The pleasure is the skin, painted until you could almost bite it.
