Druiven en meloen (Grapes and Melon)

Black and green grapes spill around a yellow melon, with a pear, plums, apricots and a slice of redcurrant cheesecake on a draped cloth. This is the old breakfast-piece habit, ripe fruit on a ledge with the silver swapped for cake. The bloom on the grapes and the gleam of the currants show a painter testing his touch.
