Citroenen op DAGON-kist (Lemons on a DAGON Crate)

Lemons glow in a brightly painted Art Deco bowl among apples, a galvanised oil can and a blue enamel milk churn, all on a red crate lettered DAGON KOFFIE-THEE. The painted shop lettering recalls the old cartellino slipped into early paintings. Bright fruit and battered metal, the everyday kitchen raised to a display piece.
